Rollettmuseum of Baden
Description
In an area of 350m², the eventful history of the spa town of Baden is documented from the Neolithic Age to the time of the Romans, the epoch of castles and knights up to the 20th century. Particular attention is paid to the heyday of Baden in the Biedermeier era, when the emperor and his family spent their summer holidays here and politicians and important artists came together in the spa resort.
The core of the collection goes back to the Baden physician, writer, naturalist and art lover Anton Franz Rollett (1778-1841). The "exotic" collections (Egyptian department, Dr. Gall's skull collection, ethnological collection and much more), which go back to Rollett's ideas of a universal museum, form a separate exhibition complex.
