Forest nature trail "Berndorf-Guglzipf"
Description
The local mountain Guglzipf does not only belong to Berndorf, it is a part of this town.
Many comfortable hiking trails as well as a nature trail lead directly to the managed refuge at 473 m above sea level with jubilee observation point, natural bowling alley, large playfield and children's playground.
The NATURAL HISTORY Trail leads from the city centre over 3.6 km via the "Mühlsteig" upwards to the Guglzipf and back again via the "Sängersteig". Along the way you will find orientation boards, coloured boards on the themes of forest, local plants, nature conservation and local history, as well as inscribed trees and shrubs. The nature trail and the facilities on the Guglzipf are ideal for projects with content of nature education.
The Guglzipf is a limestone dolomite mountain with black pine on the dry side and beech forest on the humid north side. Therefore, a great variety of species can be found in this small area.
The nature trail is accessible at any time and the hut can be reached comfortably in approx. 40 minutes.
